Let me into your world (Jimmy and Evie)

Jimmy had to admit to being very frustrated with the way in which Evie had disappeared and not just because he had been in the middle of talking to her. No... because he had been flirting with her and getting rather pent up about it, that was why! And they she had just poofed away before he could do anything about it!

It had not been a good moment for him.

So he had been left with raging hormones and arousal to try and settle down. Thinking about it, he'd done the only thing he really could have done and that was to try and distract himself from his little issues.

And he had chosen to distract himself with his writing, the work that he was supposed to be doing instead of drinking himself into a stupor and instead of getting hard-ons and attractions to ghosts of dead women.

But right now all he could think about was a complete lack of ideas for stories. However... he had a hunch as to where to get one,

"Evie?" he called out to the 'empty' house, "Evie are you there? Can I speak to you for a bit darling?"

Evie had been hiding away in sheer mortification that she had poofed away while she was talking to Jimmy, why on earth had she decided that was a good time to expend all of her energy? Why had that had to happen to her then, could it not have occurred before, when it wasn't getting so heated a discussion.

She was certain that he would be hurt by the manner in which she had disappeared but she hoped that he would understand when she explained it to him. In fact it was why she had been limiting her activities around the house so that when it was time to speak again she would be able to remain solid and true for hours on end should Jimmy require it.

And it seemed as if he did indeed require it.

Summoning herself into the room beside Jimmy Evie waved pleasantly before sitting down, modestly on a nearby chair, tucking her legs together by the ankles as a lady always should.

"Of course you can. Its nice to see you again." she smiled shyly "I want to apologise for last time, I am certain you were distressed by my disappearance, however, I only have limited energy and when that wanes I disappear, but that wont be happening today don't worry."

Tilting her head to one side she asked, softly; "What is it you needed to speak to me about?"

Jimmy was very glad to be seeing Evie again even though he would have preferred to have seen her a little bit sooner than this to be honest. Before he had committed himself to writing he might just have fallen back on the hormones and gone for a more 'direct' approach to be perfectly honest with himself.

He smiled at her when she sat down in the chair and chuckled a little bit to himself,

"Well so long as you promise not to disappear in mid sentence again..." he teased her before winking and smirking a little bit, "I'd offer you a coffee but I'm not sure that you would be able to drink it to be honest. I'm not very switched on when it comes to this sort of thing..."

He nodded in understanding before humming a little bit and pulling out a pad and a pen so that he could continue his notes,

"I've been thinking about getting a new book written but I need a strong story." he admitted before grinning, "And I was thinking maybe I could write your story?"

He coughed a little bit when he realised how rude he was coming across as being,

"Ah sorry about that..." he told her honestly before adding, quickly, "Well if you wouldn't mind sharing it with me would you my dear?"

Evie giggled softly when she heard that Jimmy was thinking that she wouldn't want any coffee, because she quite frankly would not be able to drink it, like she was not able to drink the brandy he had offered her last time. It was still nice of him to bring it up, perhaps she would one day be able to have a drink again? Perhaps on Halloween which was coming up soon actually.

"I will try my very best not to disappear mid sentence again, but you see I was just having so much fun with you I wanted to enjoy every last bit." she stated with a small blush "You are right though I will have to skip out on the coffee."

As Jimmy pulled out a pad and pen, Evie tilted her head to the other side and watched as he made a few notes on the paper, she wondered why he was doing so but thought that it might be best not to ask for the time being.

Blinking in disbelief when he asked if he could write her story, Evie coughed lightly and didn't quite know what to make of the situation;

"W-well I...I have no problem with you writing my story but I assure you it is quite dull, it is only the tale of a maid after all." she stated with a small blush, of course there were a few, juicy details in there regarding her master, and of course herself.

Softly Evie bit down on her lip as she thought, before nodding;

"I will tell you but, I am not sure what you want me to say."

Jimmy was very glad that she would be trying not to go poof on him again in the middle of a sentence. He liked it a lot more when she didn't do that. It was rude to disappear completely when someone was talking to you after all! Or at least he thought that it was or at least ought to be. But if it wasn't really her fault then he couldn't very well get angry about it now could he?

"Yes thank you for that Evie, I much prefer talking to you than talking to you only to realise that you had gone." he admitted with a little chuckle before sighing a little bit before adding, "One day I'm going to offer you a coffee or something and you'll actually be able to accept it and it'll likely scare the hell outa me!"

He could see that she was a little bit embaressed by the fact that he was wanting to write about her life and how she felt and thought at times. It was a lot to ask of her he knew but at the same time it was partly her reluctance that made it obvious that her story would be good,

"Oh I'm sure you've done a lot of exiting things in you lifetime!" he told her with a sly wink before he laughed a little bit, "The tale of a maid is better! No telling how naughty you were..."

He winked at her before shrugging a little bit,

"Well how about the last thing you remember of your old life?"

Evie blinked a little bit and she hoped that Jimmy was not going to judge her for what she had done in her lifetime, it had been rather horrible she knew but then again there was nothing that she could have done differently. He had lied to her! He had used her and lied to her over and over again, until there was nothing left to do but to kill him...of course she had other things on her list to check off before she had done that final act.

"Alright, but, before I begin I want you to promise me that you won't judge me..." she whispered softly, pressing her hand against Jimmy's earnestly "Please...I would hate to lose the closeness we are beginning to share."

Waiting to hear what he had to say, Evie bit her lip in nervousness. How could she tell him what she had done, nobody would be able to forgive her when she told them, however, it would make Jimmy happy to write and to sell his books. Wasn't that what she said she wanted to do for him? To make him happy?

"I remember...falling asleep, only this sleep was different, I was not able to jerk myself awake like I could do in all other times. All I could do was fall into it. I had taken too much of a newly mixed sleeping aid, the measurements weren't standardised efficiently enough when I was alive, and I fell asleep without being able to wake up again." she stated with a small smile "It was peaceful I can be happy of that much."

Jimmy could tell that she was getting more and more nervous about talking about what had been done. It wasn't something he could blame her for though since he didn't have either the right or the inclination to judge her based on what she might or might not have done in the past. Shaking his head a little bit, he smiled in understanding to reassure her that she didn't have to talk about it if she didn't want to,

"I won't judge you Evie! It would be wrong to judge you over something like this." he told her honestly before nodding in agreement, "Me too Evie but I will be taking notes down if that's alright with you love."

He knew she wasn't going to mention anything until she got the go ahead from him on this endeavour and he was fine with that. But in the end he was sure she'd tell him and he was sure that it would be a lot more personal.

"Well now that sounds like it was a lovely way to die of I'm honest." he admitted with a little chuckle, "Such a nice and gentle way to die! I've never even heard of it being said like that."

He shrugged slightly

"Other people I've asked about it, near death experience types, they said there was blinding light... is there blinding light up there or are they talking bullshit?"

Evie felt a lot better now that she knew that Jimmy wasn't going to judge her because she liked him a whole lot and she didn't want him to be scared off by one of the main bad things that she had done in her life. In fact she had probably done many bad things in his eyes, but then again Jimmy had also thought that he had done many bad things in his own life too.

They weren't bad, they were just morally grey.

"That is fine by me don't worry, I am just so glad that I can help you with your writing, will I be able to read it when you have finished with it?" she asked, a little timidly, she knew that lots of writers might be sensitive about their work until it was perfect.

Nodding her head Evie smiled softly; "It was the best that I or anyone could hope for...I was just a little annoyed that it was at such a young age at which I did have to die."

The idea that there was a white light is something that Evie had always believed in her lifetime, that she would be going to heaven or hell, but to be stuck here in this kind of nothing was just...painful. She didn't know how to end it, how could she escape? Evie didn't know, she just needed to make do with what she had. A semi-sort-of-existence.

"I believe they are talking out of their hats." she stated with a poke of her tongue towards his language "All I saw was a door, it had light around it but...like it was someone had merely lit a small candle and left it burning. Something...distracted me before I could get to it and then, I was stuck here."

Jimmy could see that his reassurance had gone a long way in making her feel better and he was very glad that he had been able to inspire such a reaction from her. Especially seeing as all he had done was tell the truth as he saw it. And to be honest most of the bad things she'd done in her life? Yeah he'd probably done in his own life.

Or he had written about and when you were a writer who specialised in humanising the villains... well you got good at rationalising any form of evil in your mind. But he was certain that would not be needed here,

"When you're ready you can read my writing whenever you like darling." he assured her as he scribbled some more notes down on the pad, "You can read it as I'm writing the notes right now if you really wanted to."

He nodded in agreement,

"Yeah I suppose no one wants to die but that's the best result really." he admitted before humming, "How old were you when you died, do you remember?"

Writing all that was said down in his little notepad, he smiled softly before handing the pad over to Evie to have a little read of it even as he returned fire, sticking his tongue out at her. When she spoke about something distracting her he shrugged,

"That's your unfinished business keeping you here isn't it?"

Evie nodded her head a little bit when Jimmy said that she would be able to read his writing when she wanted, she thought that she might as well read it when she was bored and Jimmy was asleep. Although it seemed weird it was like she was watching him more often than not, when he was awake or asleep but she hoped that he didn't dislike that fact.

She liked looking out for him, protecting him from those other spirits even at a minimal level.

"I will probably read them tonight when you are sleeping." she stated with a small smile "I hope that you will be portraying me correctly, and that you aren't going to take liberties."

Frowning softly when Jimmy asked her about how old she was when she died, Evie tapped her lips with her finger, she hoped that she was correct with the age that she thought that she knew. To be honest she was not that old, but it wasn't like she was a child or something when she was killed;

"I believe I was 27 when I died, although that's a little hazy when you've been hanging around here for so long." she murmured, looking out to one of the walls of the small cosy room they were sitting in "Just me and my ghosts." Evie sighed.

Nodding her head Evie sighed again; "Yes I think it is, but, I don't know what it is. It's so frustrating. It sounds like something out of a Penny Rag story! A ghost being unable to find its unfinished business."

He laughed a little bit when she said, so openly, that she would read it when he was sleeping to check to see if he was portraying her correctly. He was always going to write he pretty much straight out as she was in real life but maybe flatter her a bit more in the descriptions, knowing she'd like how his descriptions of her would be filled with compliments,

"Let me ask you a question Evie..." he smirked a little bit, "Would you have begun reading it anyway after I'd fallen asleep? Even if I told you not too? How would I know after all... I'd be asleep or until the alarms went off."

He hoped that he hadn't made a mistake in asking how old she had been when she died because she seemed to look a bit more defensive than she otherwise would at the question. It wasn't like he thought she looked old or too young or anything! But to say that would be even worse! He'd just have to kind of keep it quiet for now he supposed.

"Wow... that really is too young to be dying." he agreed before chuckling a little bit and nodding, "You and your ghosts... but now me too. I'm here with you now and I'm not about to be leaving anytime soon."

He smirked a little bit but nodded,

"And you have no idea what your unfinished business could be do you?"

Evie tried not to look too shifty when he asked her if she would be reading the book anyway even if she hadn't asked permission. To be honest she had been reading his old book and had been thoroughly enjoying it, Evie had not wanted to say anything though because she had been reading without Jimmy's express permission.

"W-well I would have done but I feel better reading it with your permission than without it." she laughed nervously "Seeing as it has me in I think I have a right to read it, I shall be using this as my excuse." Evie declared with a firm nod of her head.

Nodding her head Evie pouted softly before tilting it to one side, looking over Jimmy's profile features; "If I might ask, Jimmy, just how old are you?" she asked with an interested gleam to her eyes, of course she had died at 27 but she was in fact a lot older than that now.

When Jimmy stated in no uncertain terms that he would not be leaving any time soon, Evie felt a calm wash over her being and she loved the idea of living in here with Jimmy until the end of his days and then he could stay with her even then as a ghost. How perfect would it be? Too perfect. It made her want to sigh.

"I am made contented with the idea of you staying with me, Jimmy. I would miss you so badly if you were to leave." she murmured softly, glancing up at Jimmy with soft baleful eyes.

Pouting softly Evie wrapped her arms around her chest; "No I have no idea what it could be, I've been trying to puzzle it out for years now. Do you have any other questions for me?" she asked with a soft grin.

He could see that she was looking rather shifty and his suspicions were confirmed without even trying it seemed, causing him to smirk a little bit wider. Well that was fine to be honest seeing as he had no problems with people reading his words. It was kind of hard to when your entire career depended on people reading what you wrote,

"Well that's alright then I suppose." he told her with a little laugh before smirking slightly and shaking his head a little bit, "If you ever need an excuse I suppose that might be a very good one I'd imagine."

When she asked how old he was he raised an eyebrow at her before winking when he caught how interested she was in the answer,

"Me? Well me..." he clicked his tongue a little bit, "I'm 39 this year... quite a bit older than you wouldn't you say Evie?"

Of course he wasn't counting ghost-years.

He could see that his declaration had made her a lot happier and he didn't have the heart to tell her that what he meant was that he couldn't leave the house as well as wouldn't. He wanted to stay here for sure! But his finances were a bit dire so he had no other choice,

"Well you don't have to worry my dear." he assured her with a gentle, soft, voice, "You won't ever have to miss me since I won't ever leave."

He hummed a little bit,

"Yes I do have some questions... what station did you have in life? Lower class? Upper class? That sort of thing."

Evie nodded her head with a grin on her lips, she thought that it would be something that he couldn't argue with even if he had wanted to. It would be nice to be able to read the work that he was writing based on her life, did such a story have a special name for it? She wasn't sure having never been a great reader of books in her own life time, it was only something Evie had taken to in her death.

Hearing how old Jimmy was, Evie blinked a little bit and blushed. It was so dreamy to have such an older man around, her Master had been around that much older than her and she had fallen for him very hard. Maybe that was the problem, the age?

"Indeed you are a fair few years older than me." she murmured with a little blush "But I don't see that as a big problem you know."

Jimmy's gentle soft voice made Evie smile brightly and move, so that she was not sitting stiffly but so that she was sitting on his lap, nuzzling her nose against Jimmy's neck as she looked over what he had been writing so far in his pad. A playful smile was on his lips.

"That makes me so happy, Jimmy." she purred his name sensually, wrapping her arms around his waist in a squishy hug.

Pouting softly Evie poked his nose; "The maid was not a simple dress up, it is the uniform my master bid me wear, so I was lower class. Quite low indeed. I lived here in this house upstairs in the attic, it was rather cold in the winter but I made myself a patchwork blanket." she elaborated with a bright smile.

Jimmy had to admit that he thought she might think he was a bit too old to be someone she was romantically involved with but it seemed that she was so very comfortable with it. Seemed like he had stumbled across a lovely female companion in Evie. She was drop dead gorgeous and seemed to have a thing for older men like himself!

Sometimes life was good to him.

"I am more than a few years older than you my dear but no less youthful I think." he teased her with a wink before smirking, "Oh do you not? Well that's good because I don't either darling!"

When she moved so that she was sitting on his lap he raised an eyebrow but dutifully wrapped his arms around her waist to hold her in place happily. When she nuzzled her nose against his neck he nibbled on her neck with a throaty little growl of happiness even as she read some of his notes that he had written so far,

"Well I'm glad that I can make you so happy Evie." he told her with a smirk and a wink as he squeezed her in his arms. He chuckled a little bit,

"Oh I know you were a maid my dear but there were various classes on maid according to historians." he told her with a bright smile before grinning, "Well aren't you just multi-talented? I like that in a woman..."
